Holocene relative shore‐level changes and development of the Ģipka lagoon in the western Gulf of Riga

Holocene relative shore-level changes and development of the Ģipka palaeolagoon in western Gulf Riga are reconstructed using multiproxy analyses by combining litho-, biostratigraphical chronological data with remote sensing geophysical data. The results show basin from Ancylus Lake/Initial Litorina Sea coastal zone (before c. 9.1 cal. ka BP) to fen (c. 8.4 gradual lagoon 4.8 its transition a freshwater lake 4.6 BP), 4.2 river floodplain (since BP). highest shorelines Lake were mapped at an elevation 12–11 9 m a.s.l., respectively.
